The cell has been launched in Islamabad
A human rights complaint cell was launched by Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari on Monday, Dawn reported.
According to a press release, this was announced at a meeting attended by Regional human rights directors from Quetta, Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi via a Zoom link.
The complaint cell has been established for “receiving, sifting, segregating, and forwarding” complaints at both the federal and provincial levels.
The ministry will handle the complaint registration process at regional levels through the directorate of human rights that exists in provincial capitals.
The complaints will then be referred to the concerning department/agency and will be redressed in a timely manner. The ministry has also categorized human rights violations to ensure faster coordination among departments.
Human Rights DG briefed the participants that the cell will be operated under a system that generates an automatic database upon registration. A special code number will also be allotted to every application/complaint to easily track them. The complaints can be registered through written application, post, email, or recorded on assigned telephone numbers.
The federal minister said that she would personally get weekly and monthly progress reports of this cell.
