Nitish Reddy Recreates Tendulkar’s Magic At MCG With A Stunning Straight Drive

Nitish Kumar Reddy has emerged as the standout batter for Team India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Despite his position lower in the batting order, Reddy has consistently delivered when it mattered most, contributing vital runs at crucial moments. His recent performance not only rescued India from a challenging situation but also highlighted his remarkable skill and calmness under pressure.

Among Reddy’s many remarkable shots, one stood out above the rest—a stunning straight drive that evoked memories of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.

In the 89th over of India’s innings, Scott Boland delivered a full-length ball outside the off stump at 130.7 kmph. Reddy leaned forward effortlessly, timing a flawless straight drive that sped to the boundary. He showcased the full face of the bat, connecting perfectly with the middle, leaving Boland helpless in his follow-through. The fielders didn’t even bother attempting to chase the ball.

The shot was impeccably precise and stunningly graceful—straight as an arrow. Both the crowd and Boland couldn’t help but admire the sheer elegance of Reddy’s stroke. It was a boundary destined to be remembered.

India vs Australia – Day 3 in Melbourne

On the third day of the Melbourne Test, India remained over 200 runs behind. Australia maintained their dominance in the first session, with Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon delivering early breakthroughs. Despite this, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar mounted a resilient fightback for India.

As of now, India stand at 325 for 7 after 96 overs.
