Motorola Edge 50 Pro Launch Date and Chipset Leaked
Motorola had been hinting at several unidentified phones from its Edge series for an upcoming event, and now it seems confirmed that it will be the Edge 50 Pro, equipped with the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
Motorola China’s official social media account has verified that the Moto X50 Ultra, the Chinese version of the Edge 50 Pro, will indeed feature the 8s Gen 3 chipset.
Just like its competitors, the upcoming Moto Edge phones will offer generative AI capabilities, as indicated by the teaser poster. These features are likely to encompass AI-powered image editing, dynamic AI wallpapers, text condensation, voice call translations, and additional functionalities.
Furthermore, there is an expectation that the device will be released in the United States under the name Edge+ (2024), following Motorola’s tradition of using the “Plus” designation for its premium offerings aimed at American users.
Furthermore, the device has been revealed in several video leaks and teasers, providing sneak peeks of its features. These leaks have confirmed an April 3rd unveiling in India, a detail we’ve mentioned before.
Numerous videos allegedly displaying the X50 Ultra/Edge 50 Pro imply that the device will sport a 6.7-inch display boasting 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz. There are speculations that it will pack 12 GB of RAM and provide storage choices of up to 512 GB.
However, doubts have arisen regarding the credibility of these videos, as they could potentially be reusing footage from the Edge 40 Pro. Importantly, they haven’t revealed any novel features beyond what the flagship from 2023 already provided, including any distinctive features tailored for Android 14.

In the meantime, the Edge 50 Pro has made an appearance on Flipkart, validating certain specifications. These include a 50MP primary camera equipped with AI-driven functionalities like AI adaptive stabilization and an AI photo enhancement guide. Additionally, it will feature autofocus tracking for videos.
The Flipkart landing page which appears to be more authentic compared to these videos claims contradictory information such as 1220p resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will bring three color options including White, Purple, and Black.
