Mahira Khan Reveals What Scares her in Latest Interview
Actor completes her 15 years in entertainment industry
Pakistan’s leading star Mahira Khan, who has recently impressed audiences with her powerful performances on the big screen, is set to make her long-awaited return to television — a move she admits comes with a sense of nervous excitement.
Speaking in an interview with CNN, the Neelofar actor reflected on the highs and lows of her nearly 15-year career in the entertainment industry, a journey she says has brought her immense love, respect and admiration.
“Next year marks 15 years for me in this industry,” Mahira shared. “And now I’m going back to TV.” She confessed that the transition feels a little intimidating, but also thrilling. “I am a bit scared, but that fear is what makes it exciting — the fact that it challenges me.”
Discussing her on-screen rapport with Neelofar co-star Fawad Khan, Mahira said their chemistry has always resonated differently with audiences. She described their professional bond as a blessing, noting the deep respect and affection they share.
“We both really respect each other’s space and our craft,” she explained. “I’m more spontaneous as an actor, while he follows a different method. We understand each other’s rhythm.”
Mahira also looked back on her student years in California, crediting her time in the United States as a formative chapter of her life. She said those years played a major role in shaping her identity as a young woman from Pakistan.
The actress added that she takes her son to the US every summer, sharing stories and memories from that period. According to Mahira, those experiences remain among the most significant years of her life.
